I really am not sure but would be grateful if I could see a picture of it. Does anyone know of any good sites that may show this?

TIA

I wonder if it might just be the chill winter weather causing the rosy red cheeks? DS cheeks have been a bit redder than usual too....

Look on nhs direct website for symptoms.

ds had this last winter but it is all very hazy now - can't remember waht he looked like!

try here aka Fifth Disease. ds was quite unwell when he had it as a baby. Bright red cheeks and lacy rash over body.

BellaLasagne · 20/11/2005 17:08

My ds had it 5 years ago. I seem to remember he had vaguely flushed cheeks but they stayed like that permanently for 3-5 days despite his or outsied temperature. Otherwise he was well, no cold symptoms or anything.

It's supposed to look a bit like the cheeks have been slapped but his didn't really and I remember being really shocked that he had it.

Sorry, not much use really. Try NHS Direct?

I think ds has this - am waiting for the gp to call me back. He only has one red cheek but has a faint lacy rash over his back and arms. I've heard that they have to stay off school for about a week - can anyone confirm this? He has his school play on Monday .

I'm preety sure that once you see it it's no longer catching.

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 09/12/2005 19:42

thanks hercules. dr said that it was no longer infectious and according to her text book he could go to school when no longer clinically ill - and as she pointed out as he is displaying no other signs of illness (fever, sickness) he's fine to go back immediately.
