How do you tell the difference?
Very red cheeks, slight rash on youngest two but eldest has rash on back chest and neck.
Middle complained of sore elbow.
Mild respiritory syptoms and temperature about 38c
Not much rash on arms and legs.
No they are not immunised against MMR.

I should imagine that with rubella the child would feel very poorly but with slapped cheek they would be ok. DS maanaged to get measles despite having the MMR. He was very lethargic, wouldn't eat and just slept all the time.
I would be inclined to ring my local gp and ask for advice or NHS direct.

Rubella is actually a mild illness so it may well be. It was called 3 day measles. It does sound like it but who knows, so many virus's it could also be.
Measles on the other hand made you quite poorly like the poster has described above and for a longer period of time.

I'd ring NHS24 for advice. Let us know if they had Rubella and where you live!! Mine haven't had the vaccine either and I wish they would get natural resistance!

purple do you mean Measles or German measles (rubella)?

You can go to the GP and they'll take a swap if they think there's a possibility it's rubella.
