I am getting a bit worried really. I should point out that I am suffering from anxiety (had a bout of it a few years before I got pregnant, but was fine after meds) and I have been given Citalopram which I haven't started taking yet for various reasons , but plan on starting it shortly.

Basically I have ibs and it has really got bad since I had my c-section, I have an upset tummy most days with lots of awful wind pains (the pain is not usual for my my ibs symptoms), it is worse first thing in the morning.

I am having to take loperamide most days to be able to stabilise my stomach, which obviously doesn't help afterwards as it makes my tummy feel uncomfortable (this never used to happen, was always able to take it with few after effects). I feel very sick every day and I cannot tell if this is from the anxiety or the ibs and as a bit of an emetophobe it's really starting to erode my self confidence and I am not going out as often as I would like.

I have told the dr that my ibs has been playing up and she seems to think that's fairly common after childbirth, especially a c-section, but I'm really fed up with it all. My diet is pretty atrocius at the moment as well as I have had a few problems with my teeth and I have lost a bit of weight due to cutting back sugar (which seems to be in everything), I can't eat fruit at all because of my ibs anyway, so I am sure I am probably lacking in certain vitamins.

Anyway, sorry for the long ramble, just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and how long did it take for you to feel better? I am losing the bloody will to live here!

I don;t think i can offer any advice other than to say if you are worried, go speak to a sympathetic doctor who can re-assure you. They are there to help. Don't feel worried about their response. If you have worries it is better to get help.

Sorry I can't be any more help than that.

Thanks Tiger, think I'm going to have to re-visit my gp as you advised. Sitting here for the millionth time, forcing toast down to try and cope with the nausea (deffo not pregnant) and already had tummy pains when I went to the loo.

It's just so depressing :(.
