For over 3 months I had been having lots of problems with my abdomen. It started with crippling ovulation pains followed by bad cramps, lots of gas, severe tightening in my lower pelvis, nausea and loss of appetite. After 5 weeks of persistent symptoms I went to the doc and told her I was worried I had ovarian cancer. She diagnosed me with IBS. I gladly accepted this diagnosis as was relieved she didn't think it was serious. However the pain and nausea got worse. My pelvic floor muscles felt as though I had just had a baby and I needed a wee every half an hour. I asked for an ultrasound where they found a ovarian cyst (about 4cm). From the notes it appeared benign.
My symptoms persisted so I went back to another doctor who gave me the Ca125 test. The surgery called me back to tell me to come in. My doc told me the levels were raised and urgently referred me to a gyn. I saw him yest. I had another ultrasound which looked fine. The gyn also didn't seem to think my CA125 blood levels were an issue. (I never asked what the levels were). He seems to think everything is ok but offered to do a larocoscopy if I wanted to check if any bits are stuck together!
I am an anxious person generally but do you think I should just accept his view? Would it be worth having the op? What is the recovery time like? I have a 22 month old.
Sorry for rambling, any advice would be appreciated
