Breasts - when to check for lumps if breastfeeding

When is the best time to examine breasts for lumps if breastfeeding. Common sense tells me to do it after I've fed my dd at night as she feeds on both sides and afterwards both boobs are about the same size and empty of milk. Also, how often should I examine and when as I don't have a monthly cycle to follow what with breastfeeding. Hope it's not a daft question but I've often wondered about it and at 31 it's about time I examined myself more regularly.

I don't know the "real" answer to this, but I'm sure Tigerfeet is right, that after a good feed would be best. I would have thought that examining fairly frequently would be what you'd do ideally, as lumps can come and go when you're breastfeeding, so you'd need to be able to work out if any lump you felt came and went or was there all the time.
That didn't help much, did it?
