Pelvic Pain return 16 months after childbirth - any advice?

I experienced Pelvic Girdle Pain throughout my pregnancy, from about 8 weeks in. I was referred to a physio and wore a support belt sometimes. The pain was fairly constant, but manageable (much more painful at night).

The pain went on childbirth, but has now strangely returned, 16 months later. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I see my GP or is this something I just need to put up with?

Thanks in advance.

Mine comes back every month when period is due and my DD is 4!

Mine started 3 months after birth...
I suffered and suffered for months until I posted on here and had lots of replies from lovely Mumsnetters.
How severe are your symptons? I'd go to your gp and ask for a referral to physio specialising in this area, or if you can afford it see a physio privately.
Mine is quite severe and I've seen an orthapedic consultant who did an xray which clearly showed the problem. He recommened nurofen 3 times a day and physio. The physio I saw has given me some exercises and a support belt.

Good luck!

I've had injections into my spine, and years of physio. It's just one of those things I have learnt to live with.
Do get a disabled badge though which is really helpful. Smile

You probably know pelvic partnership from last time round but there's the link if not.

Thanks all, will check in with my GP. Some of your experiences sound absolutely awful. I really feel for you.:(
