Feeling hot, hungry all the time, heart racing, hair thinning, that's if it's overactive. Lots of other small but deeply annoying symptoms. Having masses of energy but feeling totally exhausted at the same time, jumpy.

Underactive is different, cold and tired, no energy amongst others.

Enlarged thyroid is usually a sign of underactive.

I suffer too and am on medication - feel so much better

I didn't know that. Mine was overactive and I had a massive goiter. How do you feel op, what sort of symptoms do you have?

I think if you went on thyroxin it would shrink it down, although I had over active and the carbimazole meds for that stopped working and I had to have partial thyroid removed. My cousin is underactive, which is what you sound, and she is improving greatly with thyroxine and attends the homeopathic hospital on the NHS which she says helps too. The cold, sore hands and feet is a classic sign. Are you gaining weight? Looking puffy?
