I went for some physio a while back. I wasn't wetting myself, just needing to pee a lot, especially at night - like getting up 4 or 5 times a night.

I was really reluctant but the physio was sooooo nice and really put me at my ease. The exercises she gave me are pretty much exactly what you'd expect - lots of repetitions of pelvic floor exercises and some interesting discussions about lifestyle, exercise etc. The thing i wasn't expecting was how they measure the strength of your pelvic floor - there's a small rounded cylinder shaped device that they put inside you which is hooked up a to a monitor and then basically generates a graph as you do your pelvic floor excerises for several minutes. It gives you a good idea of where you are compared to where you should be. I had a good laugh with teh physio (if you can imagine having a laugh in such a situation!) as this image suddenly came into my head of this being the next big game on the wii fit!! Grin

Anyway, I went a couple times but to be honest not sure it helped all that much. AFter further discussions with my GP I decided to try medication for an overactive bladder which seems to be doing the trick at the moment.

Oh, the physio did also say I had a weakened vaginal wall probably as a result of childbirth and that it coudl be repaired surgically but as the medication is helping a lot at the moment I don't really want to put myself through surgery.

Do give the Kegel 8 pelvic floor exercise machine a go before resorting to sugery, this has lots of programmes for various problems including prolapses, and the company has a helpline.

I think you have to laugh sugarmagnolia in that type of situation! It cant be any worse than a room full of people looking at you giving birth though!! I think im going to try a kegal too anything's worth a try. The doctor says it isnt as bad as what she sees in elderly patients Confused but im only young so would like to improve it before I turn round and find im dragging my vagina across the floor Wink
