I had quite a bad cold just before new year; the worst thing was earache which was severe, I saw my GP who said my ears were on the mend.

Ever since, I have pretty permanent blocked up nose, intermittent sinus pain, vertigo and tinitus. My asthma has been worse too, but I got a new inhaler a couple of weeks ago which has helped with that.

So what can I do for myself to improve my health and feel normal again? (I have a check up booked with gp next week aswell)

I'm taking a multi-vitamin and I try to get plenty of sleep.

It sounds trivial I know, but it is kind of wearing IYKWIM

It isn't trivial - I have an inner ear disorder and the vertigo, tinitus and spacey feeling and ear pain really wears me down sometimes - especially as everyone thinks you look ok.

Things I do which may help - plenty of rest (which you already do) with my pillows slightly raised, not eating mucus making foods - dairy, bananas etc, keeping myself well to over hydrated, eating a low salt diet - so sadly no olives and keeping fermented foods in check - no parmesan, no soy sauce (although I fail on this one as I eat a lot of Asian food).Learning to say no when I feel bad to invitations - light exercise- walks on the beach etc.

Have heard that sinutab works better than sudafed. Stugeron (a motion (car) sickness pill) works well for many people with the vertigo (dizzy) feelings.

Good luck with the Gp and hope you start to feel better soon.

Thanks so much for answering Grin

I will definitely try to cut down on salt a bit , (am a bit of fiend) Fluids are also a bit of a problem as I can't drink at work and I struggle to catch up.

I haven't really thought about using different kinds of decongestant I used to use mucron when I was a teenager and my sinuses were always bad, I wonder if they still do it? Will try sinutab if not.
