Hi, I've been trying to find a sun cream that my DD can use. She get's eczema and has come out in a rash with everything I've tried including ROC Confused. Anyone had success with anything?

Eczema Society has a list on their website of sun creams that don't contain the most common irritants. We use Banana Boat SPF50 (pink bottle).

Hadn't thought of that. Will give it a go. Thanks. :)

imho its an individual thing, I have two dc with eczema, and they use two diff suncreams. Dd needs the E45 one, ds1 nivea. (and luckily ds2 can have any!)

Yes, some folk have recommended ones and I've tried them and had no problems, but DS reacted. I just wondered if there were any that would definitely work.

The E45 suncream seemed to work for a lot of people but they have stopped making it :(

MegBusset. I had a look at the Ezcema Society Website, typed suncream into the search, but couldn't find the list Sad. Do you know where it is on the site?

Here it is

MrsShrekTheThird · 04/05/2011 22:57

[screams] no more E45 suncream? Aaaarrrggghhhhh!!! I've had an in-date stockpile for dd, but it is rapidly diminishing. Am off to search the 'net, just in case.

Otherwise I shall have to Start A Campaign Shock

MegBusset. Thank you so much Grin.

appologies now for potential hijack.
Anyone tried this (which I came across whilst searching pointlessly for the E45) The reviewers appear to be raving about it, but just wondered if anyone here has tried it?

MegBusset · 04/05/2011 23:27

Yes - I got a can last summer and it was fine on DS1's skin, though perhaps a little sticky to apply.

However, one day I folded up my Maclaren having forgotten to take the can out of the bottom basket first... resulting in the button being squeezed and an entire pressurised can's worth of foam exploding all over the buggy and halfway across the room Blush

Since then I've stuck to pump-action bottles!

MrsShrekTheThird · 04/05/2011 23:35

wise words Wink
Considering the potential risks of a tin of foam + 5yo dd it's perhaps back to the internet search drawing board then

MyHipsHurt · 05/05/2011 21:21

Both my DCs both have eczema and have used The Green People's Organic Children Sunlotion SPF25 'no scent' (think they do a 'lavender' version as well), for several years without any problems at all, and no sunburn and no rashes, it protects really well. Although I always ensure they shower/bath really well afterwards with their usual lotions and potions and put lots of Diprobase on as an 'aftersun'.

ShoonaBee · 05/05/2011 21:29

My DD has mild eczema and we use Boots own suncream stuff (can't recall the name just now, sorry) without problems. In the heat it is the sweat her skins seems to react to most actually so, as MHH above, lots of showering after a day in the sun.
