This is almost certainly nothing but I thought I would ask....sheer exhaustion after eating?

OK.

I know I am run down

But I am sleeping (in general), and I am eating OK (not wonderful but OK) I have been complaining of exhaustion for 2-3 weeks. It's the kind of exhaustion which accompanies pg (which it is DEFINATLEY NOT...am single and unless the rabbit did it there is no physical way)...not just sleepy tired, absolutely can't keep my eyes open tired.

Now in the last couple days I haev noticed a pattern...it is worse after eating. It doens't seem to matter what I eat (propper cooked food or trash). It doesn't seem to matter how much I eat (round of toast or full roast). It is just the following couple of hours I almost can'y stay awake. I would have almost expected it to be the other way round.

So is it "just" being run down or should I worry about something else.

It is the body's natural response - we should actually exercise after a meal when insulin is produced. Or it will make us sleepy. But it may be worth getting a blood test for your sugar levels. May be hyperglacemia....

I had this to, a couple of years ago. Doc prescribed Omeprazole and it helped.
Some people think it might be lactose or wheat intolerence.

Hmm...I can't see how omeprazole would help...no sign of excess acid what so ever, I will investigate though.

Lactose or wheat intolerance is obviously a possibility being post food.

hyperglyceamia would also fit....will look up symptoms of that too

If I have bread (shop bought, not home made) during the day I'm wandering around like a zombie - so no sandwiches for me at lunchtime. Could be something similar.

It might be worth seeing your GP to be tested for diabetes.
