Inflamed wrist tendon, baby wrangling and bfing

I managed to hurt my wrist while putting an undersheet on our bed. I didn't think anything of it as I'm a klutz and always do things like that. It kept hurting so I went to the GP who said it was an inflamed tendon and, after asking me if I was bfing which I am, prescribed me an anti-inflammatory. Turns out that actually he was wrong and it is inappropriate for bfing women. He also suggested resting the wrist (thank you, captain obvious), but neglected to tell me how you do this when you are a SAHM with an extremely active, nearly 5 month old DD whose favourite activity is to be held up in a standing position so she can practice walking/stomping/dancing.

I have got a wrist brace, but it is getting worse. Anyone been through something similar or have any advice? Thank you!

You could try having a cortisone injection in that wrist - v effective and is only local so appropriate when bfing.

And buy your dd a push along walker thing to rest your wrist - it really is the only way it'll keep well

What anti-inflammatory did your GP prescribe? Diclofenac is safe for bfing as is ibuprofen and naproxen though depending on your medical history/current meds taken they might not be compatible.

On the practical front something like a jumperoo or a stationary activity centre might be a good investment to save your wrist/back/sanity Wink
