how else can i treat frequent;ly occuring conjunctivitus?

DS (age 4) and DD (age 8 months) both have conjunctivitus. This is the third time for DD and about the 5th time for DS.

The doctor has givne us the eye drops again but I'm wondering
a) is there anything more natural that we can use?
b) what makes certain children susceptable to this infection?
c) is there anything that we can use long term as a preventative?

If you are still breastfeeding, you can put a little bit of breastmilk in their eyes. It's meant to work - I've used it once.

I don't know how you prevent it, though.

yes, that did work when she had it the first time but not bf any more.

Second breast milk and also wipe eyes inner corner to outer with cooled boiled water to remove build up. ds2 had this after he was born (traumatic birth!) and it finally went when I did both of these.

any natural remedies that might work to prevent re-occurences?

Kids echinacea but your dd might be a bit young. Hard to prevent because its passed from child to child very easily, bit like nits and worms!
