SPD/hip problems 6 months on

I had SPD & was on crutches in my last pregnancy. Dd3 is now 6 months & they aren't back to normal. I've had Physio since august & osteopath for 2 months.

I've fell twice in the last 10days caused by my hip giving out. Today was on the stairs carrying dd3, she was ok but I feel battered for bouncing down the stairs.

Is there anything else I can do?

I'm in the same boat 4 and a bit months on. Docs won't take me seriously about it.

Mine were ok but I'm not sure they can do anything

DS2 is 3 and I still have hip pain and times when my hip just gives out, literally. Swimming is helping as is an ingeneous belt contraption someone made. Its just a strap I put round my hips and tighten up to snug. Seems to keep everything in place. A hippychic helped when he was smaller (think thats what its called), its basically a seat on a belt that you strap round you and the bub sits on the ledge. I popped him on that and held him in place with a sling. Also saw a chiropracter (rather than an osteopath or physio, both of whom were absolutely useless and didn't seem to believe what I was telling them).

Thanks! Will put a chiropractor on my list then

I am currently 13 months after first baby and my hips have been settled for the last 2 months, but still get pain. I've been seeing a physio who has been putting them in place for me. I'd definitely see a physio, or a chiro - but as I am led to believe the hormones are responsible for the ligaments stretching etc so any adjustments that you receive may not 'hold' yet due to the hormones still being in your body? Just my opinion. It took me around the 10month mark to feel like my body joints were actually staying in place again.
good luck, and PS,. Due to the SPD I was severely limited in my movements for many months, and felt that doing this was the only thing to help me. It's very difficult though. I'd get onto the pelvic instability network too and see if you can find a practitioner who is experienced in dealing with this - there are lots out there who aren't. HTH
