V long back story. DH has moderate/severe Psoriasis. Has had it for 15 years. Worse and worse every year. Face, trunk, limbs, hands feet, even private areas affected :( Feel for him so much. He's had every cream under the sun. Nothing touches it, or it does for a short time then it's back. Recently it's been AWFUL. He has become depressed with it and was in tears over weekend. Next step is surely the first stage of UVB treatment, but docs been reluctant.Anyway, I work in the NHS and have managed to beg them to bring his next consultant appt forward by a month, to this morning. Only prob is, he's woken up this morning and it seems to have improved slightly!! I know that's good, but really wanted cons to see it at it's worst! What shall we say to them? Have listed all creams he's had over last 8 years or so, and listed the areas and flare up sites that have been worst affected, and written down about his mental state. Any ideas?? Just want the best for my lovely DH.

TIA

SC :)

Can you think of any reason why it might be slightly better this morning? eg. difference in diet, room temperature, time outdoors...

It is so frustrating when you can't get the doc to see just how bad something really is. Hope the appointment goes well.

I am about to start UVB treatment for my severe psoarisis , so I have every sympathy for your husband .
Mine also has peaks and troughs so i photographed my legs at their worst on my phone and showed the pics to my consultant on my first appointment . That worked !

If he has psoarisis on more than 7% of his body (which it sounds like he does) then that's enough to be considered severe . (I have over 60% coverage , but my GP in her infinite wisdom kept refusing to refer me for the past 8 years !!!)

Good luck for today .

Thanks so much. Wish I had thought of the phone thing. Will def do it next time. Just hoping DH doesn't clam up at the appt. That's why I'm going along! Crossing fingers :)

he will improve really quicklySmile stress makes it worse so if he sees early signs of it improving, it should lift his mood.
