Silver Antibacterial cloth - does it really work?

Hi all,

I have heard from a friend that silver has antibacterial properties and you can get cloths made from it which can cleanse your hands without getting them wet? I have ezcema and using the alcohol based gels and washing my hands all the time plays havoc with it. Does anyone know anything about this or where I can get one from?

Thanks for your help :)

We just heard about such a cloth. A friend of ours has them and we have been trying to contact her. Can let you know what we find out.

I've been using something similar, it is not a cloth but a small device which when put in a glass of water, makes it "silver", and this water has antibacterial effect. It's quite good :)

My husband had silver bandages and dressings prescribed to him by the local NHS hospital when he had a serious open wound after stomach surgery, so yes, it does work. We were told by the doctors and nurses that it was proven to have antibacterial/healing properties and would really help with infection prevention.

I don't know about the cloth per say, but Colloidial silver (which is what the cloth will be soaked in) has been used for centuries because of its fantastic antibacterial properties, its what they used pre Anti'Bs - & YES it does work -

I have they spray, which is a Godsend for cuts & burns etc & helps heal quickly without risk of infection - I've been told they use it in fire stations - my Diabetic Mum now also uses it & since she has, her frequent infections in cuts etc etc are a thing of the past :) - so if thats anything to go by - YES, its great stuff :)

PS - you can buy the spray in most good herbalist - its quite expensive at around £25 a bottle, but it does last a surprisingly long time, so works out to be god value for money :)
