DD has a bit of a sore bottom, and woke several times during the night last night, seemingly in pain. i changed her nappy each time, but did wonder if calpol would help relieve the pain, or make no difference - what do you think?

How old is your DD? Have you tried sudocrem?

she's 19 mo. I use bepanthem, it usually works in a day or two but just wondered about the actual pain.

Calpol should be ok to giver her. I used to give Calpol for teeting pain. No harm in trying. Smile

I've tried piriton sometimes when it was bad with DD2 - took the stinging out of it. I also stopped all wipes, and made a massive batch of cammomile tea up, cooled it and let her sit in it. It softens the water a treat and heals very well. Don't use any soaps in the bath at all. Let her go without nappy for as long as you can. Sorry if you probably already know this Blush

Best thing I've found is metanium.
It's an ointment and has worked wonders for DD who has recently had a very sore bum, due to the fact she has been eating and therefore pooing sand.

Metanium is very good

Thanks all. The camomile tea sounds great, especially as DD is bath-phobic! Hadnt thought about piriton, have some for DD1. Is metanium the yellow one? tried that with DD1, was ok but just made a mess!!

will see how she goes tonight......
