Hi all, I know there are several of you ladies who've been here before so hoping one or more of you can answer my questions. DD is 19 months. Had forceps after prolonged second stage (she was stuck due to short cord and retained placenta). I have a small (according to women's health physio) cystocoele. I have no continence issues most of the time although if I were needing a wee and then blew my nose or had a sneezing fit i@m not convince I wouldn't leak. Started back in the gym last week - body combat. LBT and had PT session today - having done tons of walking but not much since DD was born (apart from a 6 week PN exercise course which was a mix of pilates and aerobics run by a midwife/fitness instructor)

Plannign another baby in a year or so and decided I'd like pelvic floor to be in good nick before we get going so anyway yesterday had appt with women's health physio who was lovely - need to do my pelvic floor exercises better and examined me whilst doing the slow exercises and got me more foccussed on the right bits, she's seeing me again in 6 weeks. She did say no traditional sit ups and to work on transverse abs as they feed into pelvic floor (gave me some pilates type exercises to do). she said if no sympts when running can slowly build back to running (one upon a day pre baby I ran half marathons). she's told me to avoid high impact aerobics classes (am so malcoordinated ther was no chance anyway!), the rowing machine and star jumps. That's all clear but Can I do squats as part of a class in the gym? Tried google with no answers - I assume that once my pelvic floor is strionger the prolapse may reduce slightly and as I have no real incontinence it should be ok but now having some doubts....

sorry for such a long post

Sorry- didn't want to let it go unanswered.

have not really got all answers but...
I have had a repair many years back- mainly front wall but did back a bit too- had physio etc first but didn't work.

I did try jogging roughly 10 years after the op. I ended up feeling a bit "slack" and was told no more jogging- puts too much stress on pelvic floor.

I have been very careful. I do walk - fast- and do some exercises at home - I got a personal trainer to help me. I avoid lifting- was told never anything over 14 lbs- and don't do star jumps etc etc.

I do squats and hope they are okay.

I think the trick if you can is to pull up your pf as you stand up.

I'd ask your physio again.
