Ds showing all the signs of teething @13 weeks - is this possible?

He is miserable, particularly at night/early hours of the morning, dribbling like mad, chewing on his/my fingers - poor wee soul. Could he really be teething this early? What can I do to help him out? Obviously crunchy finger foods are out and he can't hold a teething ring yet!

Yes. My dad was born with teeth, DH teethed at four weeks. DS hung on till he was 24 weeks to get his first tooth, but perfectly possible to teethe much earlier than that.

You can give him Dentinox and herbal teething powders and if he gets really bad, you can give him calpol or other paracetamol medicine.

Mind you, they can also have grumbly teeth for a couple of months before the first tooth comes through.

Really hope that he's more comfy soon - DS has lots of trouble cutting teeth, so sympathise!

yes. My sister was born with 2 teeth!

oh yes. You'll find that there will be a good few weeks of this before the wee blighters pop. Look at his gums - they'll bulge out the way when cutting is imminent.

Oh God poor you.

I too have heard of babies being born with teeth.

katylou25 · 26/10/2005 18:52

oh yes ds was the same and cut his first two teeth at 15 weeks!

Yes, I was wondering why 15 week old DS2 seemed to be chewing desperately on his fists and discovered a tooth had erupted. DS1 was very late (only 3 teeth by 12 months) and DS2 pretty early (16 teeth by 12 months). Probably explains why DS2 is the carnivore.....

Poor you. My dd2 was fussing and waking every hour at night. I totally misread the signs not thinking it could possibly be teething but her first tooth sprouted at 15 weeks. This would be fine but she has started biting me (I am b/f) and so I think there is another one on its way. I hold a teether for her or sometimes let her bite on my fingers.

When I fed ds at 7 I found the offending article - it's not one of the bottom middle two as is usual (it's the one next to it) which is why I had missed it. And he can nip hard with it too - ouch!

Oooh I can sympathise. At least it is through for now......until the next one.....Poor dd2 is still constantly gnawing and chewing everything.
