QUICK! Should DP go to A&E?

I started a thread a few days ago about DP injuring his penis (me on top, it hit the bone instead of going back where it should have iyswim). People were sort of -oh, it'll be ok, it'll get better.

I just asked him to have a look and there's a black bruise 2 inches long on underside.

So-penile fracture? Anyone has any experience of that? Hmm

Normally I would be sympathetic and a bit Grin, but apparently it's a medical emergency and prompt treatment is necessary in case scaring forms and you end up with erectile dysfunction etc.

He balks at the idea of going to the nearby hospital (10 minutes on foot) with a bruised willy- but then he's got all the symptoms of the PF.

Am I overeacting or should I tell him to go?

He said he will listen to you lot.

Did they give any idea how long they're ok with waiting and seeing?

Well, it's weird, because normally time is of essence, so the doctor thought maybe they didn't want to do a surgery because it was already too late iyswim? And perhaps the injury is not that bad? But I've been reading about it and it seems that the surgery is always the recommended thing to do.

Doctor told him to make another app at the hospital for a check up in a week's time.

Ouch - poor DH. I don't know about not letting you on top again - he might not let you anywhere near him again!!

Just joking, it was an accident and not your fault x

No need to name-change - you wouldn't if he'd broken his arm would you and I presume you aren't going to put photos up of his bruise Grin

I know nothing about the surgery... but he could always go back to A&E and tell them it's hurting if he wants another opinion?

The doc told him to refrain from sex for a while and DP was like Hmm-no way he's letting me anywhere near it for some time Grin

The doctor asked him whether he heard a crack when it happened as that is a sure way of telling if PF has happened, and we didn't hear it, but then things were pretty heated and bed was creaking etc, so I'm a bit Hmm at this being a diagnostic tool.

Oh, well, I think we'll just have to trust the doctor at the hospital, but everything I read points to the surgery being a much better option (as if left untreated the complications are in up to 50% Shock).

But then maybe it isn't that serious, after all.

50% of cases, that is
