Watery eyes - what to do?

This winter my eyes have streamed every time I go out whether it's windy or not. I wear glasses (have done since 3 so not used to wind in my eyes) so if it's very very windy my eyes do stream but never this bad
It's every time I go out even last week when it was warm and not windy at all.

It's got so bad that when Ive got to school I've had people ask me if I'm ok as they've seen my crying on my way up to the school.

Any ideas? Do I need to see Dr/optician or just deal with it?

Oh I have hayfever and allergies but not sure what pollen gets released in the winter, if any?

I would pop into the Opticians and see if you can speak to someone.

Oddly, watery eyes can be a sign of dry eye syndrome - if the oily layer of lubrication to your eye, coming from the meibomian glands, is not coming out, or not coming out at the right consistency, then your eyes will tear up regularly as your eyes try to lubricate themselves. (Without the oily layer, the watery layer just evaporates off your eyes before it's had a chance to lubricate them properly, resulting in the nerves on your eye's surface sending the message to produce tonnes of tears to make the surface wet again).

I've had watery eyes for years, any weather conditions! Drives me nuts & it looks like my ds has got it.

I think rabbitstew has nailed the condition but didn't mention ways to help.

The two most common ways advised are:

Hot compress plus lid massage
Get basin of hot (steam coming off but not boiling) water.
Soak flannal/face cloth in water and hold up to eyes for a few moments.
Allow steam and heat to soften the stuff that is blocking the glands and open the ends of the glands up.
Press fairly firmly and rub the edge of the lids (where the lashes are).
Repeat twice a day for six weeks and likely once a day forever to keep at bay.

Baby shampoo of lids.
Use baby shampoo to clean lids and lashes as part of regular routine.

It's worth noting both of these methods are very very dull and might not be worth the effort for you depending on how much trouble the watering is.

Sorry I can't suggest anything easier.
