Glandular Fever....or thyroid??!

Went to the doc today following a hard week of just pure exhaustion. To the point where I thought I was losing the plot.
Had what I thought was flu last week - bad chesty cough, snottery beak, usual jollities.

This week however I just couldn't face dealin with my life - everything seemed too much. I am physically done.
My mood is great - just seriously exhaustd.

Other symptoms I have been experiencing recently include shaky hands, which I know is a symptom of overactive thyroid.

Doc reckons because of swollen glands and other symptoms it's glandular fever - which ticks a lot of boxes (and makes me feel a bit better that there really is something wrong with me). However, I have a huge history of thyroid disease in my family.

Obviously got blood tests etc, but not getting results back until Monday (I hate waiting, very very bad at waiting) and am terrified results show something horrendous.

Anyone had glandular fever? What was it like?

I had glandular fever. slept 14 hours a night and then needed an afternoon nap. Permanently knackered.
Luckily I was at university doing an arts degree where that kind of lifestyle is sustainable Grin

all you can do is wait. The bloods will be conclusive if it is glandular fever and pretty indicative if you are hyperthyroid. I must say if you are hyper you are more likely to be bouncy rather than knackered. Maybe you are hypo. Neither that nor mono explains shaky hands though.

hope it is all ok!

[worries more about shaky hands]

They aren't overly shaky - they don't disturb anything I do, I just feel like they are kind of 'vibratey'. Maybe I am losing the plot after all....
