Sinus Issues - Sinus Rinsing

Does anyone know anything about sinus rinsing?

I have had trouble with dizziness etc for months now following a really bad cold last year. I am having all kind of other tests to see what it could be but so far all is clear.

I went to the dentist this week just to get them to check on a tooth at the top. They did an xray and asked if I suffered with my sinuses because the xray has showed that all around my sinuses were cloudy.

I do suffer with sinus - I wake up frequently with headaches/blocked nose and it usually clears if I take a decongestent. I also have to blow my nose several times a day. However, the gunk is clear, not a yukky green colour and I also dont have any face pain. It has been mentioned that my middle ear tube may be blocked which could be causing the dizziness - this could all be to do with the sinus stuff?

So I think that there may be something in this - maybe my sinuses are blocked and not draining? Has anyone else had problems with this? I assumed the gunk would all be green through. I thought I would try a sinus rinse to see if I could clear some of it. I wonder if this would work?

Finally, which is the best one to use and where can I buy it? I have never used one before and it looks really difficult - how do you do it?

thanks - I'm lactose intolerant any way, so rarely eat diary, have gone without for years, but it made no difference -

In fairness to ENT, the first 2 surgeries I had made a huge difference, apparently my Sinuses weren't properly formed, though 1st was only partly done due to an error on the surgeons part, meaning it took a few years to be taken seriously again by GP, had a bone infection as a result, once that was dealt with I had a new lease of life for quite a while - so where as I'm a BIG believer in alternative medicine for the most part, ENT shouldn't be ruled out all together

The Osteo angle for my current problems is very interesting as I was in a Car accident & had a couple of other odd accidents not long before it all started up again & the balance problems started, due to other stuff going on too, having DD etc, I hadn't liked whiplash etc to my Sinus problems until now ....Interesting

the more angles you can try the more likely the result. Yes, had migraines, I felt pressure was building up from behind my ears to the rest of the head and was very worried. Once I had to leave work early as was feeling dreadfull despite painkillers and had to stop to be sick on the way.

Do have tests etc, in case there is something that drs can do, but no harm in trying less invasive stuff in the meantime.

Jan de Vries clinics if you are interested.

Well I had a horrendous night of being dizzy. I had been working on laptop yesterday and it seems that if I am in a certain postion it triggers it. I was realy aching at the top of my neck and really dizzy.

I am still trying to work out if it is sinus related, but I am still waking up with sinus headaches and blocked nose. They do ease off once I am up and taken painkillers.

Ive tried various rinses and sprays but I think its more the blood vessels are swelling under either some sort of allergy or ultra sensitive reaction the air temp etc.

Weather also can cause problems for me. However, I dont suffer at all with allergies and hayfever isnt a problem.

Is there such a thing as lymph drainage? I'm sure I read its a load of rubbish.

What worries me is it inherited? My father suffered from nasual problems adn just wonder if its my makeup?

Has anyone been offered any proper allergy testing? Not the quack type.

kuckingfunt · 23/03/2011 13:31

had my scan now so lets see what happens. The nurse did say it would also show up sinuses on the scan but after reading some of your experiences I am not sure.

The Jan De Vries clinic link looks good, I may book in to see him as my next step.
