I can't decide what to do.
My jaw naturally bites on one side, and has done most of my life, since my adult teeth came through.
NHS dentist says that it will always do that, unless she refers me to a specialist who may be able to treat it with braces, but more likely surgery. She says that there is nothing actually "wrong" with my teeth/bite, but she can refer me if I want. It would be private and the cost of braces would be approx £2k, and obviously surgery is not a route I'd like to go down.
I have also been to see a private dentist for a consultation on Damon System braces - they are apparently the mutts nuts in braces as they guide your teeth into position rather than forcing them. These would be £4500
. I'm not sure these would do anything for my wonky bite, but would be able to bring all my teeth out and give me a wider smile.
It would be more for cosmetic reasons than anything else, as I have a very narrow smile, and a lot of my teeth have started to tilt inwards.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a brace as an adult and how they got on?
It's a lot of money to spend if it's not going to achieve good results.
