fed up with gallbladder WWYD?

I unfortunately have gallstones and all the joy and that comes with it. I have had them for about 6 months and have been referred for surgery to have my gallbladder removed.

thing is though in the past 11 days i have had 5 attacks of the pain and vomiting. the pain is almost unbearable, and then after a few minutes i vomit until it hurts, while still having the excruciating pain. the pain lasts for approx 2 hours and im exhausted by the end of it. i'm on a low fat diet and there doesn't seem to be any type of trigger. a fruit salad proceeded todays attack.

im fed up with it. god knows how long i will have to wait for surgery, had to wait 4 months to see the doctor to get me referred for surgery. do you think i should go to GP about it? my mother said to go to a&e the next time. the attacks seem to be getting worse every time. they are really affecting my life, i can't do anything during an attack and am so drained afterwords. i think 5 attacks in 11 days should be taken seriously.

WWYD?

Make an appt for your GP in the morning and if it is for next week, go to A&E if it happens before you see the DR.
Hopefully you will be moved up the list.

I second canyou's opinion, definitely make a gp appointment but be ready for an A&E trip if you get another attack before then.

I had about six months worth of increasingly bad attacks, and was on the list to be done after about four months worth of gp visits, but I had a serious attack at work and was carted off to hospital and operated on the next day.

I hope it's all sorted for you very soon.

I agree with what has already been said - GP appt to try and push things along, but also A&E when you get an attack. I suffered terribly with mine last year, the attacks got more frequent and more agonising. I started going to A&E each time, 3 times in 2wks at the worst point, where I would be given Morphine injections. I was prescribed all sorts, but only the injections touched it. I also think that the regular visits helped speed the process up. You have my sympathy, I never knew such pain existed!

I agree with all the above. Had my gallbladder removed last year. Saw GP in Feb and operated on in June. Didn't have as many attacks as OP describes but was anxious that they might come at any time, and very painful obviously. Am much happier without it.

Hope you get bumped up the list soon.
