If you are taking an anti-inflammatory (like diclofenac) would that cause your result for ESR & CRP to be lower?

(I'm getting confused about this)

I think you need to ask a doctor that question or google it.

I took it for just 2.5 weeks, but stopped the day after the blood test, as I was having tummy pains

I'm now on Naproxen

I was just wondering if the time I took it affect the results

Oh I do - eating is never a problem Wink

I was having definite benefits for the diclofenac & I had been taking it on & off for about 3 weeks before (but the GP didn't explain I needed to take the regularly)

My ESR was 55 & my CRP was 60

you really should be taking the diclofenac with a 'cover' for your stomach like omeprazole.

Long term use will lower your ESR and CRP and they should be actively reducing inflammation

I had a very similar experience to shitmagnet, and have ended up back on long term diclofenac (with omeprazole) and it's the best for me in terms of managing daily with most minimal side effects

unfortunately a lot of this is trial and error for you as an individual

I was taking Diclofenac sodium Enteric which I hoped thought was safer for my tummy

I have very bad IBS so I wouldn't notice any tummy issues unless they were very severe

Hope your tummy is OK
