My nanna is in hospital for finding it difficult and my cousin is in for having an asthma attack.
Anyone else feeling these effects and know why it is bad just now?

FF - Funny you should mention that, I had to take my inhaler twice through the night and that only happens if I forget to take my brown inhaler for a few days (which I haven't)!!!

nailpolish · 19/10/2005 15:55

central heating

fairyfly · 19/10/2005 15:57

Wonder what it is, i know a few people getting out of breath. Perhaps it's a strain of cold just effecting breathing.
I literally have to sit down and slowly breathe after just walking upstairs.
Hope it doesn't get worse fang.

I've noticed it too over the last couple of weeks i've needed my inhaler at night and my hayfever has kicked off again - v strange!! Whereabouts are you guys? (Just wondering if it's a local thing or everywhere! I'm Southampton)

foxinsocks · 19/10/2005 16:00

dd has just got croup and I have got sinusitis (ggrr) - it has been so mild here recently and suddenly it's got colder - I'm sure that's something to do with it.

FangAche · 19/10/2005 16:11

Zephyr - Other end of the country I'm afraid, I'm in Scotland!

Oh hang on a second!!!!!!

D'you know what it could be??......

.... the 3 things that trigger pollen are:

  1. Tree Pollen
  2. Grass Pollen 3 fungal spores

Its toadstool season is it not?????

FangAche · 19/10/2005 16:12

Should say 3 things that trigger Hay Fever...

myalias · 19/10/2005 16:21

Yes my ds and a few of his friends have been off school with croup. When I went to the doctors the other day he mentioned that with the exceptionally mild weather over the last couple of weeks he had seen a number of patients with croup and hayfever. I am suffering with hay fever and breathing difficulties at the moment.

jenthehen · 19/10/2005 23:41

my husband and I are both struggling with sneezing and ruunny noses. we wondered if it was central heating as it worsens in the house. The last time we were like this was may, so we are wondering if it is a type of pollen / spore allergy??

fairyfly · 20/10/2005 07:54

ahhh toadstool allergy, i think i will have that, it sounds attention seeking enough.
Maybe it is just the mild weather.
Thanks you have all put my mind at rest. ope everypne feels better soon.

( not central heating her, don't have it)

don't know what it is but have certainly noticed some form of allergen around recently. We've all been on zyrtec.

MusicLover · 20/10/2005 14:48

My ds has asthma, & is fine throughout the year, but come september (every yr-without fail) he starts getting a cough, breathless & chesty.
Spoke to his teacher yesterday, & she said she is the same, & mentioned that it was something to do with the leaves (some kind of pollen on them)

Arabica · 20/10/2005 15:26

spores, spores and more spores! Been suffering with itchy throat, sneezing and wheeziness, always do at this time of year

fairyfly · 20/10/2005 15:34

Spores? What kind? Where? Why? How? My face has swelled up now. Which is attractive.

OP posts:
bundle · 20/10/2005 15:36

moulds, fungi

MusicLover · 20/10/2005 15:45

Well I have to take my allergy tabs all year round.Or else I sneeze, nose itch, nose running, or just any other kind of bloody annoying itch.

Did you know that if "your nose runs, & your feet smell" YOU ARE UPSIDE DOWN.

SoupDragon · 20/10/2005 15:46

Mould from damp autumn leaves.

Arabica · 20/10/2005 15:55

For more information you could download a leaflet on mould and spore allergy here Good luck. I found homeopathy really helpful BTW: I never 'grew out' of my allergies as some people do, but the only severe allergies I now have are dust and cats.

fimac1 · 21/10/2005 07:14

Ds is really croupy today - will Luffa complex help? Dh takes it for seasonal hayfever - thought might help, if it is seasonal mould probs? Have given him antihistamine and calpol already which have helped a bit
