I had bad carpel tunnel syndrome in late pregnancy and now terrible tendonitis, probably from holding the baby oddly because of the carpel tunnel. Anyone els ehad this? Did it get better? Did you have hydrocortisone injections to help and did they? Many thanks.

Yes it was horrible. I didn't have the injections but wore the splints every night and sometimes during the day when it was very bad. It was hideously painful - especially the tendonitis around my thumb! Used to make me want to cry!

I can't remembe how long it took to go but it did eventually. It really helps when you stop picking them up so much (especially once they get into a bed and you aren't lifting out of cots all the time)

Had tendonitis in both wrists at the same time, drove me mad, no idea what caused it. I did cry. It was before I had DC, can't imagine trying to cope with it now I have them.

I had it for several months with no sign of improvement. It was going to take weeks and weeks to see the consultant on the NHS then I found out I could see the same guy THE NEXT DAY if I went private. Bit the bullet, forked out the cash, got injections in both wrists and it was gone within 2 weeks. No regrets.

my go is giving me injection in one wrist later this week and on other week after - everytime I pick up dd (10 weeks) it hurts, as does holding her in position to feed. Hopefully it'll go. x

for anyone reading this thread as research into the condition - I had the injections a fortnight ago and they have transformed my life. Hoping the hands stay good and it doesn't wear off...
