We've all been ill for two weeks now, general temperature and headaches, bad cough. Tbh I've been dosing up with calpol and neurofen and hoping it would go away as I know our surgery asks you to stay away if you have anything that might be at all contagious. But yesterday I started to get really bad aches all over my body,I can't raise my arms and I can't get my temp below 38.5. I have a very bad low back ache as well, whoch from experience is probably my kidneys. Dd is 6 and had these symptoms first and while the cough and headache is still lingering her temp is at leats manageable. Ds is 2.6 and the ame as me. I finally called NHS direct and they've said we have to go to the walk in centre as it sounds like the flu or a chest infection (green pflegm, lovely) and we probably need antibiotics.
Are they likely to take effect quite quickly? I had some really awful news on Friday, and really staying in bed is not helping me at all :( I needd to be up and doing things to keep my mind busy but instead I am stuck in bed dwelling on things and I can see my mood will go donwhill very fast (I Have a history of depression and have just lost my grandad, who was a massive support to me :() I know not sleepign won't be helping my recovery either, so are they likely to give me anything to help with that? I'm under the mental health team so I could ask about that at my next appointment on Friday, but I don't know if I'll be well enough to go iyswim. I have to wait til 6 for someone to give us all a lift to the walk in centre and am trying to keep my fluids up, but I have no appetite at all and I know they'll probably think it's my own fault for feeling so awful. I'm hardly ever ill so this couldn't have come at a wrse time, I need to be well for the funeral, which I suppose will be in a week or two :(

Try night nurse as it'll help with symptoms and really whacks u out and will get u to sleep thro.
ABs should kick in soon if u need them, most ppl dont but maybe cos you've had it for so long they might give them to u anyway to help give it a shove in right direction. Let me know how u got on. So sorry bout grandad, I'd def mention it to team just so they r aware and might be able to offer a lil extra advice n support.
