DP and I have really itchy bottoms, I have had mine for a while - maybe a couple of months.
The DD's don't seem to have it.
What could it be?

Could be a fungal infection? It is a nice, dark, warm, moist area, after all. That would make your bottom very itchy!!! Have you looked to see whether the skin around your anus looks a bit red or cracked?

so thrush? would otc canesten d for that?
Mine is, but i have een scratching so have dry, sore patches

my son had itchy bottom had advice of dr due to them causing swelling down below.chemist do a family worm pack you all have to take one tablet then one more in 2weeks if itchyness not gone away.he is worm free now, washs his hands all the time at school now.

Your daughter might not have any symptoms but has passed it on to you.

Canesten or Daktarin should work for thrush, or their cheaper equivalents, and can be bought over the counter. For thrush on the skin around the anus you need to keep using it for several weeks, though (up to 2 weeks after symptoms have gone). I think for really bad cases, you can get anti-fungal cream with a mild steroid in it, to reduce inflammation, but ought to go to the GP to check that's what it is before you try something like that.

Not every shared itch is worms, but you could always observe your poo closely to see if there is anything small and white wriggling in it! Or treat yourselves just in case.

I would go for the two pronged approach: Ovex and Canesten Smile

FWIW, we've all had itchy bottoms (not all at the same time though) a few times, and have always treated with Canested and Ovex but have never ever seen a worm, either in poo or on bums by torchlight. Still cover all bases though, as know I'd be obsessed with possible worm domination if I didn't Smile

Thread worms really common, really easy to pass on and really easy to treat! Loads of people get them - specially young children - no need to be embarrassed. Just get the tablets from the chemist.

thanks everyone, that's really reassuring
Going to go back to my normal name now so won't be back but i really do appreciate the replies
