TSH levels/hypothyroidism - please help!

Really hope you clever ladies can help. I saw my private GP with various symptoms, fatigue, hair loss, very dry skin, been on weight watchers for almost 8 weeks and only lost 5lbs despite sticking to my points. He was pretty confident I was suffering from hypothyroidism and suggested I go to my NHS GP for blood test, which I have done.

TSH 2.2
T4 11

GP says this is fine, no further treatment, I am pretty upset as I was for once looking forward to being diagnosed as being unwell so that there might be something they could do about it and now I am at a loss. Have done a bit of googling which said that bloods aren't always what they seem to be, does anyone have any experience?

Looks normal. The T4 may be at the lower end of just below normal depending on the lab's range but the TSH is fine.
Your symptoms are consistent with hypothyroidism but all but the hair loss are fairly subjective measures. Are you iron studies normal?

I would ask for my antibodies to be tested, as this may be more of an indication if there is something looming that is wrong..? whether an NHS would do this I am not sure
