Breastfeeding - when does the milk stop?

I stopped breastfeeding my son mid-February and am still producing some fluid (only the odd drop or two when I squeeze my nipples). Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal or should I consult my health visitor/GP? It has afterall been 7 months!

Completely normal I think, Tigerfeet. One of my friends could express a few drops of milk by hand 3 YEARS after she stopped feeding her last child. I also noticed that it took months rather than weeks for my milk to dry up entirely. Did you breastfeed for a relatively long time? We both did and thought that maybe because of this it took longer for our milk ducts (or whatever they're called!) to switch off.

Totally normal. It can take years for the 'squeeze and get a few drops' to go. I think, too, that if the breasts and nipples are stimulated in any other way (ahem!), you may prolong it, but that's just guesswork!
