Hi everyone,

I'm fairly into my natural / alternative therapies and remedies but I don't know whether this is just a bit too spooky doo-da! I've seen amber teething necklaces for sale by eco-babes and green baby - apparently it's a traditional remedy for teething and a natural analgesic.

My dd is 5 months, and has already been showing teething symptoms, so am interested if anyone else has used these with their little ones and whether they would recommend them.

Ta!

I've seen those.
Think the natural analgesic thing is pushing it a bit and wot exactly does 'trad. remedy' mean anyway???!!

Very pretty though.

Mine just gnawed on whatever was handy.

Hi we're into natural and alternative stuff...havent tried amber teething rings though they sound great...if they work! We use homeopathic remedies which so far have been excellent ...if you get the right one for the right symptoms the effect is pretty instant. My dd is 8and half mnths and been teething on and off since 3 mnths. The two basics are Arnica 30 for hot swollen painful gums and Chamomila 30 for sore gums plus earache and /or tummy ache/windy/digestive troubles. Crush a pill to powder and put it in their mouth/ on gums with your finger tips...they taste quite sugary so should be quite nice!

Hi - Luckyy, thanks, have already been using chamomilla, became a big convert after I managed to give birth with nothing besides my homeopathic childbirth kit and tens machine...

Did look up a bit more info - apparently a very old Baltic remedy, also good for arthritis etc.

Dd's been exceptionally ratty today and just woken up crying with pain (which she never does) so think a tooth may well be imminent, so might give the necklace a go.
