Anybody suffer from this? I experienced tunnel vision this morning for about 15 mins. Had kaleidoscope peripheral vision too. No headaches or anything else. Feel fine. Had my eyes tested recently by the optician so no problems there. Not feeling particularly stressed. Just wondering if anyone else has had this.

How strange Jolopy. I had the kaliedascopic vision last night, also with no headache, but it did leave me feeling very wobbly. I thought it was maybe due to too much time staring at the computer screen looking at Mumsnet! . Seriously though, I don't know the cause, I went for a lie down in the dark, took 2 nurofen and it went. Would be interested to see if you get any other opinions

Jalopy, Jalopy, Jalopy! - I'm blaming my dodgy vision

Oh, mandymac, I'm not alone! Have to admit, found it a bit scary! How long did it take for your eyes to return to normal?

I used to suffer from this, but haven't had a problem for a couple of years now. Looking suddenly at a bright light seemed to be the trigger and each time the migrane used to last for about 20 minutes and then I'd feel odd - a bit like a mild hangover for the next few hours. I didn't get tunnel vision, but I had, what I described to the optician, zig-zags all around the periphery of my vision. I had my eyes tested and they were fine. I've no idea why the problem has gone away as I work in the same environment as I did when I had them. Weird. I did think I was getting one recently, but it stopped after about a minute.

I used to get this too; not for the last 3 years though. No headache at all, but a slightly odd feeling, and "kaleidoscopic" vision in just one side of my field of vision. My GP thought it was enough like a migraine to take me off the pill, though, which is a tad annoying.

Hi, I get these every now and again, they are a type of migraine (I also get separately the headache/sick/feel like dying migraines which I take Immigran for). I spoke to a consultant years ago about them, as it can be really worrying when you lose some of your peripheral vision! He said basically it's nothing to do with eyesight, a small part of the brain has temporarily got 'confused' and there is irregular electrical activity there. It always corrects itself, and he said it was nothing to worry about. Sorry if I'm not being technical, but certainly this put my mind at rest - I tend to get them a few times a year, and like everyone else it can be triggered by bright lights/stress, goes away after about 20 mins, and leaves me feeling a bit weird afterwards.

Thanks for your replies.

That's very interesting, crinks. It's very disconcerting when it happens, even after the episode I feel fine. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
