Odd tingling sensation on my left hand side

I noticed on thursday that I had a slight tingling in my left hand, mostly around the fingertips, then yesterday it started in my left cheek and now in my left toes.

I have a vivid imagination, so I'm trying not to google!

About 20 years ago when I was a student I had very severe ME and tingling and numbness were some of my symptoms. I was referred to a neurologist, but she gave me the all clear. I seem to remember taking liquid calcium (yuck) but I can't remember if that was for the tingling, or for something else (I was a total wreck at the time).

I am feeling particularly tired at the moment, I have a huge load of college work and 3 dc, so I'm hoping the tingling is because I'm a bit run down.

Any ideas? Thanks Smile

When in doubt ... check with your doctor IMO. Better safe than sorry.

Most likely nothing to be worried about and related tom stress/tiredness but I would urge you to seek out of hours medical advice to be on the safe side.

Really, do you think I need to go to out of hours? I feel totally fine otherwise

I had a post viral thingy about 15 years ago following several bouts of awful tonsilitis.

I too had strange tingly feelings in one cheek hand and leg. After seeing a nuerologist and having had extensive tests he said the symptoms were fairly typical of a post viral condition (under the umbrella of what could be termed ME) caused by a virus that mimics glandular fever.
Confused

It dwindled after about a year but I do still occasionally get the tingling especially when I am tired or stressed.

I would get it checked but it does sound like it could be related to what you had before- post viral things can hang around for years.

Thanks for posting that Birgit, it's reassuring to hear you had something similar. I went to GP this morning, he admitted he had no idea what it was, also told me he knows very little about post viral fatigue/CF/ME. Sadly my very knowledgable and open minded GP died a few years ago.

Anyway, he ordered lots of blood tests, I'm hoping something will show up there.

Thanks again Smile
