Does anyone have silent migraine / painless migraine?

Anyone else have this? I'm pretty sure I do (off to GP on Friday) and it's a real PITA.

Is there anything that can be done to help it? I've had them occasionally for a few years (at least) but I tend to ignore my own illnesses so have never really paid too much attention to them. Just get on with stuff as much as possible and wait for it to pass.

But they've been more frequent recently, so off to the GP I go.

I get these too. My optician told me they were "occular migraine". I got "normal" migraine too, and always assume when i get the aura that the headache will follow but it doesn't always

Thanks all. 'tis good to know I'm not the only one! Although DM has now realised she has this too, after I told her about my 'episodes' Hmm

So, just back from the GP. Thankfully she knew about silent migraine and didn't panic and send me to hospital

Apparently the aura is only 'allowed' to last for about an hour, so I'm a bit odd. She thought the extra length could well be a normal, abnormal presentation IYSWIM and maybe also to do with me not being able to rest during attacks. So, with that having a family history history of it she was happy to make a tentative diagnosis rather than sending me for an appointment with the neurologist first.

Anyway, she's given me some Sumatriptan to try. Is usually used for normal migraine but she thought it might well work as it affects the blood flow rather than being a painkiller. If that doesn't work it's off to the neurologist with me. Gah.

Hettyamaretti I get exactly the same symptoms as you. Mine is mostly hormonal (eg around my period, loads when first preg and straight after births of dcs) also get them with stress and sometimes going from dark to bright sunshine
I take migraleve, did once get prescribed something but the side effects were worse than the migraine
