Impacted wisdom teeth in sinuses, need them out but know it's risky. Anyone had it done?

Both my upper wisdom teeth are impacted and stuck in my sinuses (I've seen the x-rays). The hospital aren't keen to take them out as it might cause an infection but I'm sick of the pain and taking pills for it so I think I'm going to push to have them removed.

Will I just end up with huge holes in the top of my mouth and sinus problems?

I had my lower right impacted wisdom tooth removed and it was fine so maybe I'm being optimistic.

TBH if they don't do it I'll get a bottle of vodka and a scalpel and do it myself.

I am REALLY no expert but am struck by how abnormal it is to have your wisdom teeth out here. In N America it is so common it's almost like a rite of passage in your teens (presumably so the teeth don't end up damaging your expensive orthodontic work!!). My mother had badly impacted top wisdom teeth (not sure if in sinuses or not) but had them removed in the early 1980s so if that's possible I can't imagine yours wouldn't be. Second opinion?

You sound like my Auntie in the States Grin. She can't get her head around it either!

I wish they'd taken all 4 out at the same time TBH.

I had the same thing believe me the op was worth it as the teeth had been giving me chronic sinusitis, the relief when they were gone was terrific and it was,nt as bad as I thought it would be.Go for it.

thanks Smile. My next dentist apt is in April so I'll stand my ground and get them to refer me to the hospital (again!).
