hello I hope someone can help me with this one
it is for a friend who was diagnosed with one but NHS do not do their removal as it is considered cosmetic

has anyone done it privately> and how do you advice she proceeds?
so far she saw a consultant who saw her for 10min charged £200 and said it had to be removed with GA but advanced no further

I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone could give

TIA

If privately, then I reckon it's up to her to book it next, I am sure she can ask for prices, make sure you ask about the whole package, inc extras too (dressing, nurse etc).
I had mine done on co medical scheme many years back, can't remember how much it was. She might also ask if the local anaesthetic is an option (if she is paying herself) as you don't always have to go GA; mine was under local (on the shoulder) and I was OK with local and free to go soon after.
I was once advised to have GA for another procedure, but didn't want it, so opted for local, dr was surprised but agreed.

thank you for that, she would prefer local I think, who would you book with? a private clinic or hospital?

Mine was done by the same dr I saw originally, it was at a private hospital.

ok thank you I am totally clueless when it comes to private care
did you have private insurance? although she is thinking of getting some it will not of course cover pre existing conditions

I expect she need to go in with a list of what to ask and make sure she chooses the doctor well

Yes, mine was on co medical insurance, I am sure it was dermatologist who did it. I would have thought most of the procedure would have been explained to her at the 1st appt though?
I was also told that they can reoccur, thankfully mine didn't.

thank you really appreciate impute will pass it on, I think the person she saw was not particularly helpful and neither was the GP to start with
