Anyone with Hypermobility?

I'm fed up with the pain and achey joints. And it seems to be effecting my back now too. It used to be fun to freak people out with my bendy joints but it's not so amusing now. I have co-codamol for the pain but it doesn't touch it. Anyone else have this problem?

I am hypermobile, as are my 2 DSs.
I take Glucosamine with Chrondroitin which seems to help..

Bumping for any other suggestions..

Dd, 7 and dh both have hypermobility as part of Marfan Syndrome. Dh is on strong cocodamol, ibuprofen and glucosamine - all on prescription. You can also get stronger pain relief on prescription if these don't help enough.

Are you seeing an Orthopaedic surgeon? It may be that some of your joints would benefit from having splints or supports. Also, a physiotherapist and occupational therapist might be able to help you, dd sees both. That is more for long term advice and equipment to stop her from damaging her joints further.

I haven't seen a surgeon but am having physio at the mo. I've only just started seeing her and am in more pain than before but I am hoping that is short-lived and that it will help.

Thanks for the replies. I've been feeling miserable. Will look up Glucosamine.

i have hypermobile joints in my fingers as well as starting to develop rheumatoid arthritis.ive been prescribed a few different things for it,naproxen, celebrex but now get dihydracodeine.the others worked but didnt agree with my stomach and ended up with a ulcer.
i was advised against physio by my consultant who said i have small tears on my ligaments and could make it worse.im waiting for surgery now to have supports put in my hands on a permanent basis Hmm x

I am too. It's actually hypomobility syndrome though, innit? www.hypermobility.org/

I always have a bad back and pain around my right hand shoulder.

Apart from physio, I've never had any other treatment.

Doh! I misread it! You're all right, sorry!

I do and have suffered from achey joints for years - when I was younger it was just my knees but now its knees, ankles, wrists and elbows. Im not yet at a stage where I need pain relief other than a good knee rub etc and sometimes some of that pain balm you can get.

I really must look into supplements as I do have concerns about arthritis etc.

Does this condition explain why my joints are very 'clicky'?
