This is one of my few options for various reasons. So thinking of giving it try.

Cant do cerazette - kills my Sdrive, so not sure if this means the mini pill or hormonal contraceptives are a no go in general.

I am considering the cap but would rather something else. ATM its condoms but they are not going to plan and neither of us are a fan

Thanks

micronor gave me fortnightly periods but then I get on ok with cerazette! All you can do is try it out and stop if it doesnt suit you. Copper Coil?

mummysmadhouse · 27/01/2011 16:05

ok thanks, cant do copper coil due to horrendous periods. I was put on the pill at a young age to control my periods and advised to steer clear of the copper coil

I cant take the mini pill as it sends me loopy lol
I have however had a marina coil I dont get PMT and only very light periods that last 3 days my periods were very heavy before and the low dosage does not seem to effect me its been in 6 months

catwhiskers10 · 27/01/2011 16:38

I started taking this pill about 6 months ago.
Was on cerazette for 4 years with no probs but when I went back on it after having DD it sent me nuts and I was bleeding constantly.
GP gave me micronor to try and so far it's been fine and I have regular periods on it too which is great (always had irregular bleeding with cerazette).
Only downside is that you only have a 3 hour missed pill "window" unlike the 12 hours with cerazette.

mummysmadhouse · 27/01/2011 19:43

The three hour window could be dangerous with my mummy brain...but thought i could set a daily alarm on my phone so i dont forget.

Heard so many mixed opinions on mirena. Think because i felt so wierd on cerazette its made me nervous of hormones...it didnt just make my sex life disapear it also made me have no desire for any affection at all Sad

Def dont want a that happening again.

Thanks again

micronor has been great for me - have only been using it for a year but it has reduced my uncontrollably heavy periods to a normal flow and the anaemia has now gone too. No side effects of moods or anything else as far as i can tell. I am 44 with 3 DC all caesarians and one micarriage- don't know if that is relevant. Good luck.

I have been on Noriday(really low dose mini pill) for two weeks now, and feel normal apart from very tender nipples! (I am hoping this will wear off in time)
Previously was on Microgynon which made me feel suicidal...
Noriday does have the three hour window thing though so I basically have to have them in my bag all the time, just in case I leave for work having forgot to take it!

I have been on micronor for the last 6 months. The only negative side effects I have had are sensitive nipples sometimes and the fact that even though I never miss pills and I always start on a Sunday, I generally bleed the next week of pills instead of placebos. The first month, no perioid. Second third and fourth, both in my first week of a new pack. 5th month, no bleeding at all. I am not concerned, I have read many reviews of it throwing your cycle out of whack. Ive also altered my diet substantially, I have cut out all. Refined sugar, corn, dairy, soy and alcohol. Im sure thay May have something to do with my cycle. As for the nipple tenderness_ thats fairly new, but my breasts done hurt and they arent swollen. I personally love this pill, and It has been the best type pf bc for me because I cannot handle combination pills.
