Or is it a waste of money? it's harder to exercise outdoors in the winter... would this be a solution or would it collect dust?

It is obscene, moondog but so are most things that we do and say and consume on a daily basis. Nothing about starvation, poverty, neglect and the rest of this world's horrors are banal. But I don't like to run or walk alone in the dark. I've recently given my gym the boot as it was 40km drive there & back. So at least I've saved on petrol & polluting the atmosphere.

Eaney, if I didn't use the bloody thing once I'd got it, my dh would probably divorce me over it! "You wanted that thing and we paid all that money for it but it just sits there, yada yada yada."

I forgot to add "obscene compared to poverty, etc."

I've learned i've got to be so careful on MN!

I've been a runner for years but now want to do some exercise to tone up all over, but I don't know what kind of exercise machine to get. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can use at home?

what are you doing to help your si problem?

Eaney · 10/10/2005 19:45

The SI problem was really bad when pregnant. I think the added complication of a slipped disc makes it difficult to treat. One of the exercises for my disc seems to aggravate my SI,

I have had physio but not since baby has been born. This is why I bought the ellipitical in the hope that some low impact movement would losen things up. I am sooooo stiff in the mornings I can hardly move. I was advised to do Pilates for my back but cannot afford a class.

I do feel better recently so I think the exercise is working. I try to walk more but after a certain amount I feel my hips begin to shift and pain set in. Then I have to walk back.

Mog, my all time favourite all round machine is the Versa Climber but I would imagine fairly expensive. www.versaclimber.co.uk

If anyone lives close to Ashford, Kent they're very welcome to come round and collect an elliptical trainer. I'm sick of banging my foot on the s###ing thing. Seriously, anyone want it??
