Does anyone have Lichen Sclerosus?

After many years of suffering from thrush, I was recently diagnosed with an auto-immune condition called Lichen Sclerosus (affecting the vulva). Does anyone have experience of this? I am now on a regime of Dermovate 3 times a week for 4 months with a ?biopsy at next appt in May....
Anyone got any words of wisdom?

After a few years of mild but just bearable pain during sex i had had enough so went to see a gynea privately. Doctors had told me I was suffering with dryness so i had been taking vagifem which they said had improved the dryness such that everything looked normal. I kept experiencing what felt like pain on the left side of the vagina however, not extreme and not constant but more of an irritation, during sex it felt like a cold raw pain. The gynea said she feels it is possibly LS and I started steroid treatment end of June this year. I feel like I get the left side pain around 80% of the time though since starting trestment although she warned me it would probably burn a bit but it's driving me mad with worry. Doctors and gynea feel the vagina, bowel, ovaries are fine however and I recently had a clear smear test. Does anyone else experience what feels like pubic nerve pain and how long did it take for your LS to clear up with dermovate? I did 2 weeks twice a day and now I have to do it once a day for 4 weeks then drop to alternate days for 4 weeks when hopefully it will be twice a week maintenance. I have no itching. Gynea said last Tues it seems to be responding but she will see me in 4 weeks and decide if i need a biopsy.

This is what helped me. They sell many different kinds so make sure it's this exact one. www.aidance.com
It has worked better than anything else they've prescribed or I have tried. I rarely have to use it anymore.

It has been said that a diet low in oxalate may also help. I have a small study on this if you would like it.

My skin cleared up completely. The white patches and thickening disappeared, and there is no visible scarring. It's an area that heals really well.

I would say use the steroids, Chaos. If she itches like I used to, it is a torment.

@Butterbur I’m aware this is a really old post and thank you for it as I’m holding on to hope here, but do you mind me asking how long it took to clear up the whiteness and thickness? Was it immediate or did it take a good few months? My DD has recently been diagnosed and has been on the steroid treatment for 3.5 weeks. No dramatic improvement in skin colour yet. Not sure if that’s too early to see any improvement to skin tone. Thank you
