Nausea at night only

Wonder if anyone else has this and knows what it could be? For the last 6 months or so I've been getting intermittent nausea at night. Sometimes as I go to bed and sometimes waking me during the night. Never actually sick and its always gone by the morning. Could it be caused by indigestion? Trying to work out triggers but failing...

It could be reflux. Worth seeing your gp for I reckon.

Would reflux also cause discomfort on right side of tummy, kind of under ribs from time to time? Not pain just kind of twingey from time to time? Guess should go to GP but in the light of day when I feel fine its hard to think about going to queue at GP..

Gall bladder?

SydneyB · 13/01/2011 12:34

Doesn't that REALLY hurt?

not necessarily no, it takes many forms. i never had terrible pain just a bit naggy and annoying on occasion but when i was tested it was so my liver function was compromised. My friend however had big pain and vomiting episodes with the same thing....

So it would show up on a liver function test? Had one of those about a year ago for something unrelated and was normal.

It could be a duodenal ulcer. These have been my symptoms and That's what I've been told today.

It's easy to treat - an anti-acid tablet and 2 types of anti-b's should clear it up.

I would see your gp.

This was early sign of gall stones for me. Had this for a couple of years before pain kicked in. Track what you eat in the day, is it worse when yo've had fatty/fried food (fish n chips set mine off)

You'll need to see GP to figure out exactly what yours is though

Thanks all, have made an appt to see GP next week.

GP has prescribed a month of omneprazole to see if that knocks it on the head. Hope it does..
