Temperature of 35.4c and swine flu like symptoms

As the title says I have all the symptoms of swine flu but no fever, my temperature has been a constant 35.4c all day I am freezing to my own touch and will shiver uncontrollably for minutes on end. I really don't think I have swine flu possibly just flu, but am worried about my temperature. Any one any suggestions.

I think you have a cold.
That temp is on the low side but I doubt it is anything serious.

Is it an ear thermometer, is it in ur ear properly?

schoolsecretary · 11/01/2011 22:16

Yep it's an in ear thermometer and yep it's in properly, I even changed the battery in case it was old, but thermometer is fine for rest of family. I am just so cold. I have running nose, aching joints, sore throat and a headache. Feel like I have been run over by a bus tbh.

Wrap up warm, make yourself some hot honey and lemon and snuggle up with a hot water bottle or better yet get someone to make them for you! Do you have a good DVD you could throw on? Hope you feel better soon.

sounds like a normal temp to me. If you had swine flu your temp would be 39+

pushmepullyou · 11/01/2011 22:42

35.4 is below the normal temp range. You probably just have a bad cold but if you feel very ill you should call the out of hours GP as various medical conditions that need treatment can cause a low body temperature.

Infection can reduce your core temperature as well as raise it. Treat your self as if you have flu (swine or human) or cold - fluids, paracetamol, rest. If you get really poorly call your doctors.

Thanks for all the replies, am a lot less sniffy today, still cold and achy, have spoken to gp directly who doesn't think it's swine flu but bad cold / flu she was more bothered by my low temperature, so have to go and see her Friday if I haven't warmed up any.
