Jess is 14 months and EVERYTHING is going through her at the moment. She isnt eating great, but can get little bits down her. Drinking fine.
Teeth are bothering her a little, but not to the extent im tearing my hair out just yet.

She had her MMR last week - is it a side effect?!

What can i do - im going throuhg nappies like theres no tomorrow!!! (Even into disps now as cant keep up with the washing of her reusables!)

How long has it been going on? I'd avoid feeding her anything fatty, meat or dairy - stuff like rice, plain toast etc and see if this helps.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 04/10/2005 17:21

2 days now.... she will eat but its all going right through.

Maybe just try rice and toast for a day or so then.... she loves her milk so much though that she wouldnt give that up.

ds had this last wek - v. soft and mustardy coloured. sometimes 3 poos in an hour. His teeth were moving last week too I think (lots of dribble and not eating much). Drinking loads of milk - but not much food.
I'm sure its either going around or teething. ps ds is 18mo.

I would stop giving her any solids - just clear liquids. The Dr told me when I was bad a couple of months ago that when your stomach is still trying to get over it that any food you put in, it automatically attacks and it lasts longer (he couldhave just been trying to get me off the phone and stop hassling him though).

It will be hard, she'll be miserable (which you really don't want right now ) but it might help in the long run.

agree flamebat and get some diorylite

LadyDragonOfSoup · 04/10/2005 17:26

Agree that no food is better. I find that not eating for 24 hours helps enormously but this is difficult with a baby.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 04/10/2005 17:38

Thanks girls.

Will give it a go - she hasnt been "asking" for food as such, and is happy just to drink.... its just the milk - she wants that alright!

Will keep her off food as much as poss and try and limit her milk.... she is drinking water/juice etc not a problem.

When we had this with dd we were advised to give grated apple, not sure why but it did appear to help.

flamebat · 05/10/2005 09:25

How's she doing today?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 05/10/2005 11:44

not great - 3 squitty nappies so far. She has just gone for a nap. She is absolutely fine in herself though, so not bothering her too much.

Not eating but drinking loads.... hope it will be out of her system soon x

Hopefully if you can keep her fluids up, and off the food, then she'll be fine soon.

Lonelywitch · 05/10/2005 11:48

Keep her off milk and other dairy and she will get better a lot quicker.
