it depends. If the child is in a sterile room, no. If not, you may go, but you and the child will have to wear a mask, better if you cover your clothes, you'll have to wash your hands even if you can't touch him.
Any germ, microbe or bacteria may be lethal to him, as they can't fight illness. Any visit is a risk. Maybe it is better to wait when he is home between two courses of chemio.

Yes, if the child is in hospital having chemo or antibiotic treatment for Acute lymphoblastic leukemia or Acute myeloid leukemia. Most paediatric oncology ward have open visiting times. Occassionally the only children allowed to visit are siblings. You do not need to wear a mask or cover your clothes, but you wil have to wash your hands. Visitors can be very benificial for both the ill child and their parents. Why not check with the childs parents if they want visitors-the parents will know what the visiting rules are.
I take it you mean not the type of leukemia that needs transplant?
A child who is having a transplant will be in isolation and only the same two or three family members will be able to visit.

Ali Thanks for that.... I don't plan to go yet but before I asked I wanted to know what the rules might be.
