hi
anyone know if a 3 year old who had the h1n1 swine flu vaccine last year would need one or two shots of the seasonal flu vaccine this year? Thanks

Hmm. The first flu vax for a child under 8 should be given as two doses. Which one did they have last year? One was supposed to have been given in two doses anyway. (Celvapan I think)

Both my dds had it (h1n1) in two lots last year, and had one shot of the trivalent vaccine (which includes it) this year. One is 4 (just), the other 7 (just).

my daughter only had one shot of the H1N1 vaccine last year and not the seasonal flu vaccine.... so would she just need one shot or two this year of the seasonal flu as it now contains H1N1? thanks!

I think 1 will be OK this time but there seems to have been much confusion last year as to whether the sf jab, being a child's first flu jab should have been given in two doses like Elibean's children had. Did they hace Celvapan Elibean or Pandemrix?

I think you should clarify with your GP.

My daughter had two doses of Pandemrix last time (before they decided one was enough). She received one dose this year of seasonal. She is nine.

mine had pandemrix

Just one is needed

My dd (6) and ds (9) both had h1n1 jab last December, only one shot as surgery said they were not giving second shot by that time.

Have both just had seasonal flu vaccine in December.

My dd has previously had flu jab but not ds.

So am I right in thinking that they both only need the one shot this time?

Thanks, am getting confused

moccachoccachino · 05/01/2011 21:29

Just to clarify I meant h1n1 jab on Dec 2009 and seasonal flu jab in Dec 2010

vanitypear · 05/01/2011 22:09

Two jabs is not what's happened here - DD with asthma got two shots last year but kids who weren't "at risk" only got one - both kids only had one this year.

Elibean · 05/01/2011 22:24

gibber, they had Pandremix. I think the advice changed after they'd had them - this was just before half term 2009, so October? Quite early on.
