I am starting to lean toward vaccinating my baby and myself against flu. I refused it last year as when it was offered I was pregnant and too soon for babies to have been born post vaccine so I was worried about thalidomide type side effects
Is the NHS offering to babies? Can I now get it through NHS I have no other health problems but if get flu am usually almost unconciously ill for 3 weeks
If not where do I go to get the jab?
How much should I expect to pay?

Asthmatic DH has had it. My other 3 dds are secondary school age and so likely to bring home all kinds of germs, will probably get them vaccinated too.
Thank you

I dont think babies/toddlers are being offered it this year. It has been combined with the seasonal flu jab this year so whoever normally gets offered the flu jab will get the swine flu component too. Pregnant women are also in the at risk group so will be offered it too.

i believe at the moment it's only those with underlying health problems, over 65s, pregnant women and frontline NHS/essential workers that are being offered the vaccination... you could go private (via pharmacy) but not for baby.

Babies 6month+ ARE being offered swine flu jab as it affects children under 5 worst apparently. We had a letter come through offering DD it a few months ago and I got her vaccinated against it.

You can have it done privately at the Portland Hospital or ask the Portland Hospital if they know a private paediatrician in your area who can vaccinate your child. Our GP is refusing to vaccinate dd even if we pay for vaccine as she is not in risk group eg asthma, diabetes etc. I think the GPs are all over the place this year, they all do different things. That is why we want it done privately (but she is ill at the moment so have to wait until she is better).
