Dd is 12 weeks old. My period started on Wed pm. Since then it has got heavier and heavier.

I am changing 2 pads every 1hr at least, also am passing some clots about 20p sized.

I had dd at doc this am as she is not really well at all and mentioned to doc who said it was normal.

Is it?

(I had a pph and then had problems with gushing blood after the birth for a few weeks)

when I say 2 pads I mean I have 2 pads on at a time, they are not entirely soaked but the central section is and the rest has stuff on.

i did notice my 1st period after birth was rather heavy. I had to change a super tampon every 2-3hrs for the first couple of days. Then it became lighter after 3-4 days. Next period was a little lighter.
I think what you describe is normal.
Using pads, makes it look like there is more blood than there is.
If it is still seems rather heavy to you after a week, then you could seek medical intervention. However I am not sure anything can be done....
Your body is recovering after birth. If you had retained placenta which could cause continual hevy bleeding, you would have bled continuously from birth.
Just keep an eye on things, maybe call NHS Direct if you continue to worry.
In the meantime, try not to become anaemic....i.e eat those lovely iron rich foods!

My first few periods post baby were unbelievably heavy. I was going through a super plus tampon and towel every hour or so. I also had to sleep on bath towels!
Weirdly there was no pain!
Just your body settling down and preparing for the next baby Grin
