I am always bloody freezing.

for example this evening the heating is on 23. DH and the DDs are in T shirts. I have on jeans, shirt, cardi, slippers and slanket and still chilly.

DH noticed in bed the other day I said I had finay warmed up but he thiinks my skin was roasting hot.

I check my temp occasionally at work. it's normally about 37.5.

Am I broken?

Think you should go to docs to get your Thyroid checked..

Bumping for any other possibilities..

I always feel cold, but apart from feet am not. Just the way I am

blinks · 13/12/2010 21:19

would agree with getting thyroid checked

ilovemyfestivehens · 13/12/2010 22:09

Sounds like you're suffering from rigors. This is when your temperature is high, but you feel very cold. 37.5 is on the high side, but not enough to cause a rigor.

You need to take your temperature when you're feeling very cold.

Hypothyroidism causes you to feel cold, but you wouldn't have a temperature of 37 + with it and your skin wouldn't feel hot.

Dexterrocks · 13/12/2010 22:11

I agree with the thyroid suggestion. I have an underactive thyroid and I am often freezing when it is not that cold. It is hard to explain but it is cold that hurts rather than just a bit chilly.

ilovemyfestivehens · 13/12/2010 22:17

Your temperature would be consistently low if you had hypothyroidism. 37.5 is classed as a mild pyrexia and could indicate the presence of an infection somewhere.

TheYuleLogLady · 13/12/2010 23:04

can't be infection - it's always been like that (well for past few years).

when my skin felt hothot I was comfortably warm.

Also - as well as being constantly chilly I get shocking night sweats. I have googled - not the best idea.

get checked for diabetes while yer at it. can get test at Lloyds Pharmacy. you need to fast so best in the am

It's not rigor, you have to have a very high temp for that and you would feel very unwell with it. Are you very underweight? People with a low body fat can feel cold all the time, also agree about a thyroid check.
